Many Orthodontists report a new trend: Moms and their teens getting braces together. The American Association of Orthodontists says there has been a 50 percent increase in adults getting braces over the past decade.

They recall metal braces but today they’re made from less conspicuous, more comfortable materials. Many celebrities choose Invisalign braces because they’re almost invisible, even in close-ups.” Invisalign eliminate the traditional wire and bracket system, substituting a series of custom-made clear plastic aligner trays to gradually straighten the teeth.
Today, with longer life expectancies and a greater awareness, everyone has a better chance of keeping teeth for their entire lifetime. Dr. Chase explains that among the most important steps for healthy teeth and overall health is plaque removal. Plaque helps bacteria stick to teeth which can lead to decay and gum disease/gingivitis. Research shows a possible connection between plaque and heart disease, dementia, and overall health issues.
